Construction Work Underway For The New Park On West Side Of Downtown (PICS)

A tipster sent us photos of work underway at what some are calling the second Campus Martius Park. DTE Energy announced the 1.5 acre park back in June. It’s located on the west side of downtown Detroit on Grand River Avenue across from the historic G.A.R. building that’s home to the hot restaurants of Republic and Parks & Rec. Back in 1965, Viola Liuzzo left her home, husband and five children in Detroit and headed Alabama to help Martin Luther King’s Southern Christian Leadership Conference register African-American voters in Selma.
