February is quickly approaching, which means it is time to start thinking about what to get your Valentine. What if I told you that you could get your sweetie something delicious and have a portion of the proceeds go to a great cause?
Avalon International Bakery is partnering with Alternatives for Girls (AFG) during the entire month of February with the initiative called Share the Love.
Alternatives for Girls helps homeless and high-risk women by giving them access to support, resources and other opportunities. Each year the program helps women better themselves through education and other resources.
“We’ve always been led by our love of Detroit,” Victor noted. “Partnering with AFG was an easy choice because its mission is centered on giving people the resources needed to succeed. It’s an honor to raise awareness for AFG. Just like us, they too are ‘Detroit lovers.’”
Starting February 1, for every box of sea salt chocolate chip cookies purchased at any Avalon Bakery location a portion will go toward the outreach program for AFG.
Those of you who are interested in making a donation directly to the AFG website there is a special incentive for donating $25 or more during the month of February. Each person who donates at least $25 will receive a voucher that is redeemable for a free loaf of bread at any Avalon location.
Each Avalon location will be donating a portion of all sales to AFG on Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, February 14.
I don’t know about you, but I see cookies in my future.
