A photo that is important to science was shared Wednesday. It’s huge news that we now have the first picture of a black hole, thanks to researchers at the National Science Foundation.
“We have seen what we thought was unseeable. We have seen and taken a picture of a black hole,” Sheperd Doeleman, EHT Director and astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics

But as soon as I saw it, my thoughts went straight back to home. To something else I thought was unseeable.
The Golden Halo sculpture, a.k.a. The Golden Butthole on M-59 in Sterling Heights.
The resemblance is uncanny and leaves me with questions.
Was this inspired by aliens?
Did the artist know about the black hole before this was made?
Will a black hole open up and swallow Macomb County and eventually, the whole earth?
Is it a portal to downtown Detroit’s Stargate? Interstellar Mass Transit, anyone?
We may never know all the answers.
However, I have learned that just east of the Golden Butthole… errr… Halo will be a new restaurant.
It’ll serve Chicago-style pizza with a Cali twist, and something called a “Pizookie.”
And it’s going to be called “BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse.”
