In honor of National Donut Day, we at the Daily Detroit podcast are sharing our favorite five donut spots. We know there’s more out there, so if you have a favorite be sure to share this post and tag that spot on Facebook.
Dutch Girl Donuts
A Detroit tradition. Near 7 Mile and Woodward, the place slings donuts like no other. Yes, we went through the trouble of ranking their individual donuts, they’re so good.

Donut Cutter
Up in Berkley, this little place makes your mouth water. They’re known for having fresh product and their fritter game is on point. They are cash only, and are open from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. More.

Apple Fritter Donut Shop
Although the name points you to fritters, they have a wide repertoire of tasty donuts and other baked goods. Just east of downtown Ferndale, there’s easy grab-and-go with their parking lot out front. Also, they just celebrated 30 years in business. Facebook Page.

Dilla’s Delights
We’re big fans of the creativity of this place in downtown Detroit. The flavors here are different and out of this world. And there’s a great story connected to one of Detroit’s legendary music producers, J Dilla. Be sure to get here early, as they sell out like a hit record. More here.
