Happy weekend, everyone! The leaves are a-changing, and we are full on into Fall. Get out there and have some fun before the weather takes a gloomy turn.

Family Day Extravaganza: Day of the Dead Ofrendas and Retablos – Saturday – Detroit
On Saturday celebrate the traditional Mexican holiday, Dia de los Muertos (Day of the dead), with this special event at the Muesum of Contemporary Art (MOCAD) in Midtown.
Local artist Kia Arriaga will guide visitors as they create their own miniature shrines called retablos using a variety of supplies provided by MOCAD. You can also relax in the galleries for story time or dance to a blended mix of music by DJ Pilar Cote.
The event is FREE aimed at families with children ages 4 and above, so grab the kiddos and enjoy one of Mexico’s most fascinating traditions.

Motor City Gears and Beers Bike Ride & Bar Tour – Saturday – Detroit
Grab your two wheeled sled and saddle up for the 2nd annual Motor City Gears and Beers bicycle tour.
This ride takes you through several of Detroit’s historic neighborhoods, as well as some of the best dive bars and newer destinations alike. You’ll learn about Detroit’s rich history all while enjoying the healthy combination of a steady stream of booze and low impact exercise.
You can choose a 10, 15, and 25 mile course, and you can opt for either the guided tour, or grab a pack of friends and blaze your own trail.

The Detroit Cocktail Classic 2015 – Saturday – Detroit
On Saturday you can also check out the Detroit Cocktail Classic. The second edition of this event will celebrate the culture and craft of the cocktail at The Garden Theater in Midtown Detroit from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m.
The event will feature over a dozen of Detroit’s most celebrated drinking establishments, spirits and brands serving up signature craft cocktails. Each establishment is paired with a top shelf spirit to concoct a signature drink for the occasion that will be served at their unique “Libation Station” inside the Garden Theater.
Your ticket gets you 15 beverage samples, along with live music and tasty appetizers from vendors like Roast, Selden Standard, The Keep and more.

Detroit People – Saturday – Detroit
On Saturday night grab your dancing shoes and go check out TV Lounge’s Detroit People event. Delano Smith, Brawther, local legend Bruce Bailey, and Chuck Flask with be spinning tunes all night, and cover is just $10, so if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative on Saturday this one is for you!

Sunday Brunch at the Detroit’s Oldest Bar – Sunday – Detroit
Check out Detroit’s oldest bar as they bring back their top notch brunch event. The Two Way is one of our favorites and a staple on the Detroit dive bar circuit.
You’ll enjoy some of the best Bloody Marys around, some seriously good grub, and the always interesting and fun cast of characters that frequent this legendary spot.
