Joel here, back once again for the weekend roundup on your
City 5 with Daily Detroit.

Something’s afoot this year in Detroit. We’ve enjoyed another week of warm temperatures, while states such as Arizona and Texas saw snow storms and freezing temperatures.

While there is no doubt a sinister cause to such atmospheric cicumstance, why not play dumb for the weekend and enjoy what we have?

With that in mind, here it is, your City 5.

Tree Lighting Ceremony In Campus Martius – Friday – Detroit

On Friday, don’t miss the official launch of the Holiday season here in Detroit, with the beautiful tree lighting ceremony Downtown.

Watch Campus Martius come to life and shine under the glow of 19,000 multi-colored LED lights on the tree, and many more hanging on store front throughout downtown.

The event will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and guests will enjoy entertainment, ice skating, food and fun, until the tree comes to life at 7:45 p.m.

I suggest getting avoiding the parking headache by getting down there a little early and enjoying dinner or a drink at one of Downtown many restaurants and bars.
