Another big weekend of fun things to do right here in Detroit city. While the 2015 GM River Days is definitely going to be on everyone’s radar we wanted to offer you a list of options to indulge in around the captivating River Days festival. It’s no surprise that there’s a place for everyone in this city with such a great variety of energetic events happening all in the same weekend.
Friday: CRAFT 2015 – CRAFT, the partnership between Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan and Eastern Market, is celebrating the progress and growth of the organization Friday evening from 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. at Shed 3 of the Eastern Market. There will be a special selection of artisanal cuisine and hand-crafted cocktails and beers to enjoy. There also will be a Cornhole Tournament for folks to participate in as well as entertainment provided by local Detroit musicians. This event doesn’t require much other than your awareness to the cause and attendance to the event, and should definitely be a good time in the Eastern Market area.
Friday: Detroit Art Series – What better way to spend a Friday afternoon than to be surrounded by art, music, wine, and great people! A 15-foot-long chalkboard wall, giant bubbles, and art for sale all to celebrate local Detroit businesses on the target. This is a FREE event and will start at 5 p.m. Your host Melissa DiVietri is going to be holding down the Russell Industrial Center and hosting a great party that should definitely be on your weekend todo list.
Friday & Saturday: Sneek Peek Keep – As Detroit keeps fighting to grow and finds strength by numbers, the people that are already here get to enjoy the progress and entrepreneurial spirit growing in the city each day. The KEEP is a new bar opening up at the Cadillac Square downtown Detroit and is having it’s grand opening, or sneak peak, this Friday & Saturday. Should definitely bring a great addition to the nightlife options already existing in our Detroit area.
Saturday: LAUNCH PARTY|Grand Circus Magazine – A new magazine is launching this weekend, and they are throwing one grand party for it! This Saturday, at Jam Handy (2900 E Grand Blvd), the Grand Circus Magazine is hosting their launch party from 8 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. There will be a variety of American alcohol by Tito’s Handmade, music provided Brian Polsgrove and LURCH, along with visuals by OTHER Studio and a surprise gift from the great folks behind Haute to Death. The afterparty will continue at Temple Bar Detroit, keeping the energy flowing into the night!
Saturday & Sunday: Woodbridge Merrick’n Summer – The Woodbridge Merrick’n Summer show is two nights of concert vibes and great times at the Woodbridge Pub. Set times, Line ups, and Stages can all be found in the link above! Definitely find time to take a stop by Woodbridge Pub.
