The District Detroit and the Little Caesars Arena have just announced two new restaurants to open on September 12 before the first ticketed event at Little Caesars Arena.
With these two new restaurants opening in Little Caesars Arena there will be an additional 300 new jobs in Detroit.
Mike’s Pizza Bar will be an “artisan style” pizza kitchen. Customers will be able to order handcrafted pizzas, craft beer, custom cocktails and wine. The restaurant will feature an open kitchen and indoor/outdoor dining.
There will be a walk-up counter in the Little Caesars Arena concourse for Mike’s Pizza Bar.
The second restaurant will be a gastro-pub sports bar called Sports & Social Detroit. The goal of the experience is that guests of this restaurant will feel like they are in the arena during the game.
Sports & Social Detroit will also be accessible from inside the arena.
Both restaurants will be located on the Southeast corner of Little Caesars Arena and won’t require an event ticket to dine at either of these restaurants.
The hours for both restaurants have yet to be shared, but according to a release, the hours will be adjusted based on the event calendar at Little Caesars Arena.
I personally think the hours are a bit of a bummer because downtown needs more places that aren’t only geared to special events, even if they are in The District Detroit – especially if it’s supposed to be part of a neighborhood and visible from a main street like Woodward.
