Metro Detroit’s food scene is getting a couple of new additions.
First off, Go! Sy Thai, the popular midtown Thai place that makes locals smile with their “Iced T” dispenser (with a picture of Mr. T) is adding a small, 29-seat downtown Detroit location in Capitol Park, next to Dessert Oasis and Detroit Bikes in the Albert on Griswold, according to a release. It’ll also have a condensed menu to fit it’s small space as well as add delivery in midtown and downtown, which should be a hit with cubicle-chained office workers when it opens. That’s targeted to be in the fall.

Secondly, up in Troy, the food truck Mean Weenie opened a permanent location Monday. The menu has a selection of speciality hot dogs with a variety of toppings, including the Wasabi-ach, a hoisin-glazed hot dog with wasabi ginger cole slaw; the Piggly Wiggly, mac & cheese topped with BBQ pulled pork on a dog; and Olive These Greeks with tzatziki sauce and greek relish. There are also veggie options with a soy hot dog.
They’re open at 1708 Livernois in Troy (basically at Livernois and Maple roads, where Main Street turns back into Livernois) and are open Mon-Sat from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6:00 p.m. Here’s their website.
