Hockey legend Gordie Howe is turning 88 years old this weekend. Howe was serenaded by Karen Newman, who is “the voice” of the Detroit Red Wings and often sings the national anthem before games.
The video is touching with the 20,000 fans or so at the Joe singing “Happy Birthday” – Gordie means so much to the Detroit community and Detroit history. He played 2,421 professional games in a career that started near the end of World War II and finished when U.S. President Ronald Reagan took office. He also won four Stanley Cups. All the best wishes for Mr. Hockey.
Happy 88th Gordie Howe! Sing it all together now…https://t.co/olntEKmM7u
