Welcome to a new thing. Our City 5 event listing has become immensely popular over the last few years, getting tens of thousands regular visitors. But we also got lots of feedback. The two most common threads:
- We want just city of Detroit events in the City 5!
- There’s so few, what about more by Ferndale/Royal Oak/Berkley/etc?
We believe in focusing on the good stuff, so we aren’t going to break out of our “five things” model. But we will expand it.
So today, we’re testing out our newest thing, the Corridor 5.
It focuses on communities that touch Woodward Avenue – the Woodward Corridor – from Ferndale to Pontiac. This way, the City 5 from this week on will become a city of Detroit only list of things to do as has been requested literally hundreds of times.
And the Woodward corridor will get the coverage it deserves, as has been requested many times.
After all, we’re all about getting people to explore places they’ve never been in our region whether it’s the next city or the next county over. Daily Detroit is reader driven – so make sure to hit up our submission form if you have ideas to contribute.
OK, fanfare over. Let’s get to the fun!
