The local internet is abuzz after a post by Kid Rock firing back at critics, who believe he isn’t the right performer to open up Little Caesars Arena starting tomorrow through September 20 due to his controversial views that do not align with most in the majority African-American, Democratic-voting city.

We’re not going to break down the post you can easily read for yourself here that has more than 3,500 shares of this writing. This isn’t an opinion piece. So we’ll stick to the topic at hand.

One thing that has caught our eye — regardless of what you think of Bob Ritchie or his politics or his music — is that many people say he doesn’t have a house in Detroit.

Now, we can’t confirm that he lives there or not as a primary residence, but his Facebook post is correct in that he owns a house and is a Detroit taxpayer, through his revocable living trust.

If you try to look at it on Google Maps, it’s blurred out like many homes of famous people or government officials are.

That house is in the same neighborhood as the Manoogian Mansion (Joe Berry Subdivision), the traditional home of the Detroit Mayor, and according to MakeLoveland the last sale price was $300,000 and the tax status is “OK.” It was purchased in 2012.
